Senior Section

Are you 55 or over? Are you retired, easing yourself away from the work ethic and looking to meet new people for a combination of friendly and competitive golf? Then why not join Calcot Park's ever-growing Senior Section?

New members are always welcome and there's certainly a lot to look forward to.

Throughout the playing season, the Senior Section play 12 matches both "Home & Away" against golf clubs in the Reading & District Veterans League: The Caversham (The Home of Reading Golf Club), Sonning, Henley, Goring & Streatley, East Berks and Newbury & Crookham.

A further 12 â€˜Friendly' matches are played "Home & Away" against Temple, Maidenhead,  Basingstoke, Frilford Heath, Castle Royle and Burnham Beeches so completing a very full annual competition calendar.

Full information on dates, venues plus relevant notices and team selection sheets, can be seen on ig. To enter Seniors friendly & League matches go to the Calcot Park home page, select competitions, then matches, and then click 'set availability'.

And if this wasn't enough to keep you interested there are several Section Competitions held throughout the year including a Waltz team Stableford, a Sixes team Stableford, a 4-Club Challenge, the Spring Stableford, the King Charles III Cup, the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Cup, the Captain's Challenge Day, End of Season Stableford, Christmas Stableford, a Single and Pairs Knockout plus two matches against the Ladies Section!

So, becoming a member of the Senior Section offers a great deal golf-wise and even more on the social front. Not only do members have the chance to improve their golf handicap and expand their circle of friends but, in doing so, get to play some of the finest golf courses in and around Berkshire at very attractive rates!

So why not join now? For more information and details as to how to pay the nominal £5 entrance fee, please contact the 2024 Senior Section Captain Ashok Sawhney or the Honorary Treasurer Nick Gibb confirming details of your handicap and they will process your application accordingly.
